The Secret Garden Read-A-Long

Although I saw The Secret Garden TV series more than once when I was little, I cannot actually recall reading the book. I may have, but the TV show is so clear in my head that I really can't remember if I read the book or not! So when Sheila at Book Journey announced a May Read -A-Long of The Secret Garden, I thought I would join in. The protagonist, Mary, is such a fantastic, feisty character - I remember being shocked at how disrespectful she was - so I am excited to see now if her character is just as impressive on the page.

Have you read The Secret Garden?

I found a free copy of the book on the Kobo website and downloaded it to my iphone. Kobo has a brilliant list of free classic books and when you join up you get about 30 books for free, some contemporary, some classic. So cool! I'm finding I'm loving having books on my iphone because I can read a few different books at a time, no matter where I am!

So I have my ebook copy of The Secret Garden and I have a month to read it. I'm looking forward to it!

If you'd like to join in and read the book too, pop on over to Sheila's blog and sign up!

  1. Oh I love The Secret Garden! Such a beautiful children's story. I still haven't highlighted it on my blog yet but have been meaning to for ages. Thanks for the reminder! And how fun does a Read-a-Long sound?
