Masterchef - Down to the final two

Yet again I've been sucked in by a TV show, this time, it's Masterchef.

My Mum got me onto it this past week, and I've actually only watched about 4 episodes. Tonight's episode was nail-biting as each of the three contestants had to cook for a dinner for 35. They had 6 hours to prepare, and worked non-stop!

Sadly, Claire was eliminated, as she just couldn't get on top of the timing.
So now it's down to these two, Callum and Adam.

The final is on Sunday. Who do you think/hope will win?

My vote is Callum. Go Callum!!

My Place and Yours - Kitchen Love

The theme for My Place and Yours this week is Kitchen Love.

I popped into Spotlight the other day for some creative bits and pieces, and spotted this cutie! We're always baking biscuits, and I STILL have a blue kitchen, so it's perfect for us right now!

Drop into Hello Owl for some more kitchen love!

Pretty things in nature

A storm has been raging around here. We just looked out the front door to see this:

And there is some yellow cheer in our backyard:

Pretty things to keep us smiling!

Cinema excitement

Jack and I just went to see Toy Story 3D! It was so much fun! I was as excited as a little kid before we went in, and we had a blast!

I was also beside myself with excitement when I saw this poster:

I've been waiting for this movie to be made for YEARS, and CANNOT WAIT until it comes out in September!! If you haven't read the seven John Marsden books, go to your library now and read them all- they are amazing! The thought of eight teenagers having to survive in a war zone appeals to the Terminator fan in me, and perhaps the survivor in me. These books are LIFE-CHANGING!

The film has a whole bunch of familiar teenager faces from Aussie TV, Lincoln Lewis, Caitlin Stasey, and Phoebe Tonkin, as well as the amazing Rachel Hurd-Wood from Peter Pan.

I have to let you see this preview...

So exciting!!!!

Where does your cat sleep?

Tuesday Tag-Along

So much for buying a cubby for our son a few years ago. It is now our cat's sleeping spot during the day!

Where does your cat, dog or other adorable furbaby like to sleep? Show us, by making a link to your blog here:

Street of Love

While I wallow in this cold (Achoo!) I'll share some retro vinyl with you. Here is a favourite by Jenny Morris. Love a good sing-a-long song, and this one gets me singing along each time (albeit this time with a blocked nose!)

Check out the vid here. (It's not great quality, and the first play might buffer the whole way through, but plays properly the second time!)

So...I'm on holidays!!!!

School finished for two weeks on Friday, and I already have a full-blown cold!! I always get a holiday cold, so I'm glad we didn't plan to go away! I'm going to be doing a lot of catching up this holiday, with family, with housework, with blogging, with my etsy shop. So much to do!

Now, to totally change the subject...I was watching Any Dream Will Do on Foxtel, and there was a guest performance by Meatloaf singing Cry Over Me. I'm not a huge fan of Meatloaf, but this song and his voice blew me away! He usually sings melodramatic Jim Steinman songs and has an annoying vibrato, but this Diane Warren song has so much heart and his voice goes into another realm. Give it a listen!
