While in Collie, we went to the Soldiers' Park.

Peppermint trees line the footpath:

and Camphor Laurels stand like guards:

The branches on these trees are awesome!

I made the boys climb them:

Too cool!

Wildlife sits like statues:

or wanders happily:

The Soldiers' Memorial soars against a perfectly blue sky:

And just beyond these trees...

the river runs.

On the long weekend we went for a trip to Collie, my old stomping ground!

You can't go to York without visiting the lookout at the top of Mt Brown. 

You get a spectacular view of the town and the surrounding land.

Completely breathtaking! The pictures just don't do it justice, but I tried!

The town of York is famous for its Swing Bridge, which is near the playground. 

I am not a big fan of bridges, but I felt no fear whatsoever on this one!

A Day Trip to York
