Finally!! I black- appled my house!

Many of you will be familiar with the black apple etsy shop and blog - I LOVE their work! A few months ago I bought some postcards from the shop and bought frames for them from Ikea. They have sat and sat and sat, and today, just now, I FINALLY put them above my piano, where I've always wanted them!!! (note the excitement!) Part of the delay has just been waiting for a moment when my hubby was free to hang them, but then I discovered...3M Command Picture Hanging Strips, which, given my technological ignorance, you've probably all been using for AGES!! Well, they were up in a blink of an eye, and I am one happy girl!

P.S. Don't worry, the gold line around the room IS straight even if it doesn't look like it in this picture!

Whimsy

For those of you who haven't had a chance to explore my etsy shop, Whimsical Works, I just wanted to let you know that the finished Wizard of Oz card sets look really pretty, like this:

And with the lids open:

Love 'em!

Wizard of Oz drawings

Aaah, tricked you! You thought they were going to be my drawings, but actually I couldn't resist showing you the Wizard of Oz drawings that my Pre-Primary kids made. We watched some of the DVD one day when it was raining, and then I asked them to draw pictures of each of the four main characters, Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman and the Lion. Here are some of their beautiful creations:

Just adorable!

Pinwheels

The Pre-Primary kids made HUGE pinwheels at school.

We're on the road to nowhere...

My boys went out for a drive in our new car, and I haven't had a chance to post the pictures until now, so here they are.

They found some old, adandoned shacks and machinery.

The ocean looks so inviting!

Jack, having a catalogue moment.

This jump looks like fun!

My clever kid

Just taking a moment to acknowledge my boy, Jack, who got a certificate at school for art.

Apparently they've been painting portraits of some sort, but I haven't seen them yet.
Good on ya, Jack!

Shop is updated!

There are four new card sets in the shop, inspired by the Wizard of Oz! Here are four cards I haven't shown you before, that represent the poisonous poppy field. They could possibly be my favourites.

When you get a moment, pop on over to The Shop Bug blogspot, as the lovely Rachel is featuring Whimsical Works as her Shop of the Week! There is an interview and photos telling you more about the shop and its products.

The Emerald City cards

The Emerald City sparkles on the horizon, inspiring in me a collection of sparkly green cards!

The Wicked Witch of the West

Her Royal Greenness is the next character in the Wizard of Oz card set. She is so evil, unlikeable and ugly. And when she sends out her flying monkeys, it sends shivers down my spine! She has some great quotable quotes though - who hasn't said "I'm melting, I'm melting!" sometime in their life?

Munchkinland cards

I know, I know, the update is today (I'm working on it!) but here are some cards you haven't seen yet.

Those tall plants with the big plastic flowers, and the swirl of the yellow brick road, they were my inspiration.

The Tin Man

Hi! I have some new Wizard of Oz cards for you to see.

These ones represent the Tin Man receiving his new heart.
