365 Question Challenge 11, 12, 13

This year I've been answering the questions in this cool little book:

On January 11th, the question was What did you lose today? 

Being someone who loses things often, I can proudly say I lost nothing!!

On January 12th, the question was What's your favourite accessory?

My favourite accessory is jewellery, in all its forms; rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings. 

In fact, I bought a new blingy ring when we went to York on Saturday:

On January 13th the question was Where do you want to travel next?

Sooooo many places! Jack wants to go to Daydream Island, and that does sound good! 

I'd like to visit some more wonderful places around Australia, including Uluru, 

Monkey Mia, 

Coral Bay and Exmouth (to name a few!) 

and then maybe when Jack graduates from high school in 4 years, 

we'll go on a big overseas trip for his gap year. 

That would be way cool!

Wearing Alice in Wonderland

I haven't yet had the chance to see the new Alice inWonderland movie, but I know it's going to be spectacular! I thought I'd share with you the Alice in Wonderland inspired bracelet I made with the beads from Lady B's store in Tasmania. They have the BEST Pandora style beads!

Can you see all the Wonderland motifs? The flowers, the deck of cards, the crown, the rabbit, the red heart, the teapot, the mushroom, the clock, the cat, all interspersed with red, black and clear jewels? (Double click the photo for more details.)

What fun it is to shop on etsy! As part of my continuing-to-get-organised-resolution, I decided that this year for the first time EVER, I would shop for Christmas presents throughout the year instead of in the last week! And I'm going to try to shop for as many things as possible on line. Recently I received some of this Christmas shopping in the mail from two etsy shops I absolutely love! Here are some tea towels from Teresa Sheeley. Gorgeous!!

You have to see these tea towels to be taken aback by the lovely texture of the cloth, and the amazing artistry of this lovely lady, who has a wonderful shop here, and an inspiring blog here.

I also bought some stunning jewellery from Lora Stone at ValentineStudios.Etsy.com

I actually bought these for me (the only downfall of shopping for others, is finding heaps of gorgeous stuff for yourself!!) and they are exquisite, and yet surprisingly affordable.

Look at the colours of the stones, and that adorable Eiffel Tower!

And there was even a heart pendant made from a coin! How sweet and clever!

A place for jewellery

Thanks everyone, for your encouraging comments about my organising. Every now and then (like weekends) I have impressive moments, but mostly I live in chaos! (Hope that doesn't spoil the facade too much!) I've been watching Lush House on Foxtel and she's SO got it going on in the organising and cleaning department!

One organisational problem I had for years was knowing what to do with all my jewellery. People buy jewellery for me as gifts, and I like to buy it for myself. Most of it is not expensive, but it stills needs to be stored effectively. At the beginning of this year I had 40 necklaces, and all the systems for storing them that I had tried had been outgrown. So, off I went to Howards Storage, and, while I had set out to buy something like a jewellery drawer, I came away with this little beauty for around $35!

There are so many pockets, 44, all of a good size, back and front, and it slides into your wardrobe like another piece of clothing. My jewellery ended up being too heavy for it, and the hanger broke on the first day, but my clever hubby took the clips off a skirt hanger, slid the hook and bar into the top of the jewellry hanger and clipped it with little bulldog clips. The perfect solution!

I have a pretty 'dumping' basket for when I can't be bothered putting my jewellery away properly, but when I do, there is a spot for everything! I highly recommend getting one! (Or two, if you're particularly into jewellery!)

For time and all eternity

When it was coming up to our tenth wedding anniversary, we thought we would get eternity rings to celebrate. Jonathon found the one he wanted pretty quickly, but I've only just managed to find the perfect eternity ring for me, and it is one and a half years later! Thanks to Zamel's for having this sparkling beauty in their window. I am so in love with it!

It is a further symbol of our marriage for time and all eternity in the Sydney temple in 1998.

Lucky me to find such a caring man with such a beautiful heart.
