Sleeping Beauty

This week's A Snap A Set A Song theme is "Fairytale" and, while I adore many fairytales, I was inspired to make a post about Sleeping Beauty. I love this story, and Disney's Maleficent is such a frightening villain! When she turns into the dragon at the end, my gosh, how scary! I also love the scene in Disney's film when the fairies are fussing over whether Aurora will have a pink or blue dress
- love those little ladies!

My Snap is a  montage of the wonderful characters from the Disney film:

My Set was designed to capture the beauty of the princess, the castle setting, and the roses that grew all around over a hundred years.

My Song is the beautiful and sad, A Thousand Years by Christina Perri (just a tad more than Sleeping Beauty's one hundred years, but still fitting.)

When I was creating this post, I couldn't help thinking of my little niece, Willow,
who passed away last year, after ten days of life.

So I dedicate this post to her,
as she is our family's own Sleeping Beauty.
Sweet dreams, little one. We love you.

xx

    1. Sorry, I didn't intend to make it a sad post, but that song gets me thinking about Willow every time, and then the photos...couldn't help myself, I needed a cry. xx

  3. Sad. :-(

(My wife's favorite characters from Sleeping Beauty are the three good fairies - Flora, Fauna and Merriwether.)

  4. As I read what song you had chosen I immediately thought of my baby girl as I do every time I hear that song, and then to see her photo didn't make me sad but made me smile - she was so lovely in the flesh. 8 months today since we held her close and said our goodbyes for now and miss her more than ever. Love u xx
