Organising time

It's nearing the end of the school term, and I'm feeling the piles of clutter building! I saw this great price for storage boxes at Kmart, and I say go now, and get yourself some of these to pack away some stuff! Look around your house for things that are in the way, underused and even overused (so much so that you are sick of them.) Pack up some stuff and make way for new things - that's what I'm going to do, because I can feel the seams of the house at bursting point!

Blue Cloud

I just popped down to the shops, and was fascinated by this blue cloud that appeared to be hovering in the sky, almost like you could reach out and touch it!

Sultry sounds

Today, the random selection from my vinyl treasures is "You're the Best Thing" by the Style Council, and I would have to say this is my most FAVOURITE song of all time! That is actually a hard thing to do, because I have sooooo many favourites. But there is just something I love about the music, the lyrics and Paul Weller's voice in this song.

I think I may have created a monster...

With all this spare time on my hands (yeah, right) after completing reports (yahoo!) I have done the silliest thing and started yet ANOTHER blog! What with this general news blog, and my book and film review blogs, and even my half finished art journal blog from last year, AND my voyage into book journalling I didn't really need to create another place to write things. But I am a sucker for creating and writing, and I had a little inspiration from a few blogs around the place, especially Excuse Me Mrs C.

Soooooo, to cut a short story long, I've started a teaching blog. Because really, when it comes down to it, teaching is my career and it is my true talent. And, I have been creating, with the help of the wonderful Shabby Blogs, a groovy looking blog, with a great plan to make it into the ultimate Kindy teaching resource (always reaching for the stars, I know)!

I'll add to it when I can, and maybe, just maybe, it will reach some of the teachers out there who need new ideas and inspiration for the classroom! You will find my infant blog at Happy Little Kids. Come on over!

New Goodies in the House

I'm slowly recovering from writing 40 kindy reports (count em, 40; they took FOREVER!) and bought myself a few rewards for getting through them! (Any excuse for some retail therapy.)

Some new novels - so exciting!!

I've started the Cookie Club, because really, how could I resist that cuter than cute cover! (The story is good too!) The other too are follow-ups to books I've read recently, so I HAD to get those!! (By the way, you can read my book reviews at Wise Owl Books.)

Also we got a new washing machine, yay!

And a new kettle, to cope with the endless stream of peppermint tea that I drink around here!

My Place and Yours - Treasure

It has been ages since I've posted, but I am BACK! First I am going to play along with the My Place and Yours meme at Hello Owl. The theme this week is Treasure, chosen by Stripey Monkey.

I know we are supposed to show a treasure from our home, but you have seen most of my home's treasures already! So, here is a treasure that arrived this week from Jonathon's folks in Tassie. They took a trip to Hobart, stopped at one of our favourite places, The Cadbury Chocolate Factory, and sent us this 5kg box of chocolates!!!! Oh my gawsh! (Alas, poor diet, I knew you well....)

Now I know it's not very original to say 'my family' make me smile, but they always have me in hysterics when I'm trying to take a normal photo of them.
