Extreme Makeover Home Edition

I know I am a complete reality tv junkie, but I just have to share that I LOVE this show! I watched an episode today, about the Bell family, and I just cried and cried. The youngest girl has a rare form of anemia and needs two blood transfusions each month. Not only does she promote blood drives and gift collections for children in hospital, but she had to live in a house in disrepair because the family spends at least $10000 a year on medical costs, and could not afford to do it up.
Well, Ty Pennington and his crew came to the rescue and built them a massive house, which had beautiful decor, Spanish in flavour. I love the bookshelves in the bedroom, and might have to steal this idea.

And I just needed to show the eldest daughter's perfectly organised wardrobe. Gorgeous!

Check out this show if you get a chance. The houses and decor are stunning, and it is all for a good cause - helping those who help others. Keep the tissues nearby...

Love Tyra

I have been watching the new series of America's Next Top Model (of course). That J Alexander is too weird, and I think Paulina Porizkova can be quite harsh, but I do love Tyra. She is tough on the girls and fierce, but she does tell them plainly and gently what they need to do to improve.
Besides, how stunning is this girl?

Pretend Album Cover

Now that I've added a heap more fave blogs to my blog roll, it took me an hour tonight to read all the new posts! But, I'm having a ball!

There was a laugh of an idea on the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland blog, that was just so tempting that I had to try it: Make a pretend album cover for a pretend band, following this criteria.

1. Google 'wikipedia.com' and select 'random article' from 'the sidebar. The title of the first article is the name of your band or artist.

2. Google 'random quotations' and select the first entry. The last four or five words of the last quotation on the page is the name of the album.

3. Google 'Flickr'and explore the Last 7 days. The third picture is the album cover art.

4. Use photoshop to put it all together. ( I now have this so, woohoo!)

5. You are meant to tag friends in this last step, but hey, everyone gets their kicks in different ways, so if you want to do it, do it!

(The picture is from Tom Raven's photostream On the Road).

The only other instruction is NO CHEATING! You'll be tempted to, but go with what you get first time. (For example, mentum is another name for chin, and I would have loved to change this to Momentum, which would have meant more to me, but, it's only a bit of fun!)

The picture and quote were serendipitously appropriate. I love bright coloured images, and the saying, 'It is not so much to live long as to live well,' suits me fine too.

This reminds me of the game where you find out what name you would have if you were a moviestar (or prostitute, as some people play it!). You take the name of your first pet and the name of the first street you lived in. Mine is Soxy Ogden. Love it! What's yours?

Magical

Now, I don't really know how to reference photos from Google images, so forgive me if I've 'stolen' someone's art to use this picture. But I couldn't resist it's beauty. Can you?

Announcing...

So busy at work!

It feels like AGES since I posted, but it has been really busy back at work after the school hols.

Also, we have a new computer *Yay!!* and I have been trying to work that out (which is tricky since the other one was NINE YEARS OLD and had archaic programmes. )

Also, I am busily trying to organise myself for the launch of my Whimsical Works etsy shop on Saturday. My next post will be the official ad for the launch. You can use the ad on your own blogs and websites to help me promote the shop. But, keep in mind, it actually takes awhile to make the card sets, so I can only sell what I have, and right now there are only 4 complete sets of cards. As I want to create card sets for other classic stories there will ONLY be 4 sets of cards for Alice in Wonderland, so, grab one quick if you want one!

If all goes well, I might be able to introduce new items to the shop every Saturday.
Ha! We'll see how that pans out!
