Life in One Day

For this week's A Snap, A Set and A Song the theme is Life. I looked around my garden for some inspiration, and decided that the leaves on these yucca plants were shining examples of life.

My set mirrors the greens and golds in my snap,
and the quote about life is one of my favourites:

My song choice is a wonderful, uplifting tune from 1985. This is not the official video for the song, but it has some great stills of Howard Jones. So love the eighties!

Love to you!

Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

It's time for A Snap, A Set and A Song! Knowing that this week's theme was Clouds, I woke up this morning with a plan to take a photo of the cloudy sky outside our home. Only thing is, for the first time in ages, there was not a cloud to be seen! So I  popped outside after work to see if there were any clouds at all, and found this miniscule one:

It's the Running Man cloud!

Over at polyvore, the first thing to catch my eye was the I've Got Sunshine on a Cloudy Day print
which immediately made me think of Willow, because the song My Girl was played at her funeral. This week of the year is quite difficult, remembering Willow, however, sometimes during the cloudy times we are reminded of the sunny things in life that can help lift our spirits - all the people we love, and the beautiful gifts of nature. I made a happy set to express this.

Escape to Rome

It's Thursday, and time to play along with A Snap, A Set and A Song! This week's theme is Urban, and I decided to think outside the box and go for an Italian city theme. I've not been to Rome, but my stepmum says it's the best city in the world!

My Snap is one I found online, and it really makes me feel like travelling!

These are the Spanish Steps in Rome, but the bit of info that I found even more thrilling, was that the house on the right is where the great Romantic poets, Keats and Shelley lived!  I adore the Romantic poets and their stories, especially in the film Burning Bright.

It's been pretty stormy here, so for my set, I thought I'd choose a bright colour to go with the greys. I know it would be hot in Italy right now, but I added a coat anyway, and then the outfit would work for winter or summer.

Water for Elephants - Film Love

Water for Elephants is a gorgeous film starring
Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon.

I fell instantly in love with their characters and of course, Rosie the Elephant,

and even the despicable villain, a crucial element for an unforgettable story.

I love the colours of the circus, the iconic red and white stripes, and in this case the era, the 1930s.

Reese Witherspoon wore the most gorgeous dresses in the film, and her hair had the perfect curls!

If you fell in love with Robert Pattinson in the Twilight movies, you will fall for him all over again in this one, as his character is another kind-hearted romantic.

I also loved the music - so mellow and vintagey.
I was swept away into another era.

Here are some pics from a photo shoot of a wedding with a Water for Elephants theme. If you have even a slight love of vintage these beautiful pics will warm your heart.

Isn't it just beautiful?
