Heatwave!

This week's Snap, Set and Song is all about the Heatwave of summer!

I pretty much stay inside in the air con when it's too hot outside,
so I don't have many pics of the sweltering heat at the moment.

However Broome in Western Australia is the first place I think of when talking about heatwaves.
And frangipanis are very much a reminder of Broome.

(If you'd like to see more of my pictures of Broome, including riding camels and holding baby crocodiles, head to this place.)

My set this week is all about hot pink and black. I must go shopping for new swimming gear soon, and when I do I'll be looking for something like this:

Heatwave

Beach bag
$39 - black.co.uk

LOFT graphic hat
loft.com

NARS Cosmetics lip makeup
$28 - asos.com

Bright Pink Hibiscus Cotton Velour Beach Towel
overstock.com

My Song: If you live in Australia, you will have heard this song a million times by now, because it is pretty much an iconic summer song. But I never, never get sick of hearing it!

Unfortunately there was never a video made for it, and the live vids are too muffled, but it's worth listening to the track without any pics:

Love to you!

365 Days in Nature 8

At the end of November, we went out for breakfast to Jetty's Restaurant at Hillary's Boat Harbour to celebrate Jack's 14th birthday.

There is a great atmosphere here, and some wonderful shops and restaurants too.
Add it to your list of places to visit if you ever come to Perth!

Love to you

365 Days in Nature 6

Here are the last pics from when we went camping at Flat Rock,
which is named after the rocky ledge at the edge of the water.

It was over all too soon!

365 Days in Nature 5

Waking up in the morning when camping, I opened the tent door and was greeted by this peaceful sight:

Imagine the warm sun on the sand, and the sound of seagulls nearby. Bliss!

Edging a little further out of the tent I saw this:

this

and this:

Yes, that is one of the boys from church hurtling down the dune on a sandboard!

I guess it's never too early in the morning for adventure!

Love to you!

365 Days in Nature 4

When we went camping in November with our church group,
the boys made a campfire which was so toasty and warm.
We had hot chocolates and toasted marshmallows of course!

Soooo relaxing. Best night of the year I think!

You can see some more nature pics at The Happy Shutterbug and The 365 Project.

Love to you!

A Snap, A Set and A Song - On the coast

The theme for this week's A Snap, A Set and A Song is

Coast.

The Western Australian coast is quite spectacular, and I have many photos of it, from Busselton to Broome!  The picture below was taken in Kalbarri.

My Snap:

I haven't been to the beach in winter for years, but I used to love to go there to read a book, write, or sketch, cuddled up in a warm winter coat.

My Set:

Friday Fancies - Dreaming of Summer

I'm having a change of colour palette in my fashion post today, due to the Summer theme over at the Friday Fancies meme. I'm used to posting my winter colours of red, grey, black and yellow, but today you have pinks, oranges, greens and blues!

Although I've always told my family I get too seasick to try going on a cruise, lately I've been so inspired by other people's posts and pictures of cruises, that I just might give in and try it!
Especially if it is a cruise to tropical islands where you can drink fruitilicious juices and lie in the sun reading! Right now, that kind of lifestyle sounds heavenly.

Dreaming of Summer
