365 Days in Nature- 43 and 44

Down our way, there have been some pretty sunsets this week.

On Monday I took this pic:

And on Tuesday I got this one:

Hope you're getting some awesome sunsets where you are.
Love to you!

365 Days in Nature: 30 - 40

I hurt my back last Saturday, and have not been able to sit in a chair for long, so have not even looked at this blog for six days! So far behind!
I have some nature shots for you from when we went marroning in Collie a couple of weekends ago.
Marron are crustaceans that live in rivers. They're pretty ugly, but fun to catch with a net, and tasty to eat!

This is the spot my stepdad always goes to catch marron. Unfortunately it was the wrong time of day for really good pics. The sky was white, and it was already dark under the trees.

This was our catch. Creepy looking things, aren't they?

My stepdad showed us how you can hypnotise marron by stroking them on the back of the head.
The marron tries to run away and...

Hypnotised!

Here is Jack holding a live marron.

And here he is with a cooked one!

The marron go red when cooked, and have white meat inside.

We had a midnight feast!

Love to you!

On the long weekend we went for a trip to Collie, my old stomping ground!
There are such pretty rural views along the way.

365 Days of Nature - No. 21, 22, 23, 24, 25

On Australia Day, we went to the greyhound races with my Dad and stepmum, Jane.
Their garden was beautifully in bloom, so I took some pics to share for the 365 Days in Nature Challenge (which is not quite happening as I'd hoped, with a photo for each day, but, when I get a chance, I'm trying to at least share the same amount of photos for the days that pass, if you get my drift!)

This yellow tree is spectacular! Standing underneath it looking up, I felt like I was in a rainforest!

So, so pretty!

Love to you

365 Days in Nature 15, 16,17,18,19

You can't go to York without visiting the lookout at the top of Mt Brown.
You get a spectacular view of the town and the surrounding land.
Completely breathtaking! The pictures just don't do it justice, but I tried!

Love to you!

365 Days in Nature 14

The town of York is famous for its Swing Bridge, which is near the playground.
I am not a big fan of bridges, but I felt no fear whatsoever on this one!

365 Days in Nature 11, 12, 13

We had a busy weekend, so I'm a bit behind on my posts!
On Saturday we went for a day trip to a little town called York, which is not far out of Perth.
There were some picturesque views along the way:

Very dry, but pretty, and quintessentially Aussie!

Love to you

365 Days in Nature 10

I love the colour of the flowers on this Geisha Girl plant in our front garden.
But it's one of those plants that runs wild!

365 Days in Nature 7

Around the time of Blake's 1st birthday, we went to the cemetery to see Willow's Place,
which is in a commemorative garden for children who have passed away.

It is a very pretty garden, with clever landscaping,
and lots of space for sisters, brothers and cousins to explore.

Willow, you will always be remembered.

Love to you

365 Days in Nature 6

Here are the last pics from when we went camping at Flat Rock,
which is named after the rocky ledge at the edge of the water.

It was over all too soon!
