Hi, blogging friends!
I've had a positive week, reading some great books!
I finished 11/22/63 by Stephen King, which I can highly recommend as a fabulous read! It only cost $11.99 on ibooks, and was completely worth it!
I have also just finished reading The Secret Garden. What a joy that was! It is amazing how a little bit of sunshine, friendship and gardening can change people. This story was so inspiring it actually brought me to tears, and I never cry in books! Very uplifting.
Now I'm going back to some books I picked up recently, but never really got started on, because I was swept away by other stories:
It'll be interesting to see which of these really grabs me this week!
Check out what everyone else is reading here:
xx
I recently read The Secret Garden for the first time...quite a delightful story.
ReplyDeleteAnd I've barely made a dent in 11/22/63 so far, but I'm enjoying it.
Thanks for visiting my blog...and yes, the abscess doesn't thrill me. It's kind of scary....
I loved how I felt like I was taking the journey myself in 11/22/63. The detailed writing just puts you right in the picture.
DeleteAnd The Secret Garden was probably the best self-help book I've ever read! :)
I've heard good things about the King book. I really need to read it.
ReplyDeleteIt is sooo worth it! Such a good read! :)
DeleteOoh you have great reading taste LOL. The King book is on my TBR mountain, I'm just not ready for a chunkster and The Host is waiting patiently too. Looking forward to your thoughts on it. I really enjoyed Everneath, hope you do too!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and happy reading :)
11/22/63 didn't even feel like a chunkster to me, it was such a great story and really easy reading.
DeleteI'm not sure about Everneath - it's a bit teenagery. I'll keep going.
You have a lot of great classics this week. Gatsby is one of my favorites and the cover of your edition is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love this cover of Gatsby too! But it's not my copy, I just borrowed it from Google. I read Gatsby on my iphone. xx
DeleteQuite an eclectic mix on your list this week! I was surprised to find I really enjoyed The Host
ReplyDeleteHave a great reading week!

I really loved the Twilight series, so I expect I will enjoy the Host.
DeleteI feel like I've missed out if I don't read bestsellers, which is why I always try to read a mix of the bestsellers of the present and the past.:)
Great books this week! I loved Little Women and The Great Gatsby...and I hope to get a chance to reread them and The Secret Garden again soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and I hope you have a great week!

I have mixed feelings about The Great Gatsby. I love the writing style, but I don't really like the characters. I'm going to try watching the movie to see how I feel about them then. :)
