Today, I am joining in with the linky party over at A Snap, A Set and A Song. Each Thursday we share a photo, a set of items, and a song to represent a theme. This week's theme is Musical, and in keeping with my art deco obsession I have chosen the musical Chicago. Well, the movie, because I've never seen the stage show. I actually didn't even like this movie because the characters were all self-obsessed, and had low morals, but the musical numbers are catchy and the sets were gorgeous.
So here is a snap from the movie. I love the costumes and set in this pic. Swoonful!
Here is my Chicago set created at Polyvore:
Max Factor nail polish

And this is a song from the movie. One we all know well, and which has been on repeat in my head since I started thinking about this post! The lyrics and routines are sleazy, I know, but the tune is catchy, and Catherine Zeta Jones plays this part to perfection!
( I didn't realise the clip I posted this morning was semi-porn! Sorry if i offended anyone. Have now swapped to a video of All That Jazz with behind the scenes clips, but no sex scenes! Interesting to see how the rehearsals for the show evolved into the real thing. )
Pop over to Thea's blog to see some more interpretations of the Musical theme!

FabUlous!!! Love this. I agree with you about the movie, and I also agree that the visuals and music are wonderful. So slick! :)
ReplyDeleteThis film was amazing for pushing Catherine Zeta Jones into a higher stratosphere of acting. Although the content of the story is dodgy it allows a fantastic platform for the all round performer. I think a lot of actor, singer, dancers would think the role of Velda Kelly to be one of the most prized stage show roles. :)
DeleteI must try polyvore. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteThanks Trish! I never could really see the point of polyvore, but now with the Snap, Set and Song meme it is fun to use polyvore to create these 'moodboards' of inspirational fashion. I have so much fun with it! :)
DeleteYes a good choice for your art deco interests.
ReplyDeleteI'm finding art deco influences in everything these days! xx
DeleteThe era of the show Chicago is great for so many different topics ... art, fashion ... music ... design ... architecture.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your take on the theme.
I just love the 1920s and 30s! And I have still got the song All That Jazz playing in my head on repeat a week later! :)
