Tolstoy makes a dark subject into a comedic scene, and I found that intriguing enough to read on. :) Beautiful Dayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06289454469935208604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823777262380847396.post-78283153221100422782013-02-12T00:20:19.741+08:002013-02-12T00:20:19.741+08:00Yes I must read some more of each of these authors...Yes I must read some more of each of these authors.:)Beautiful Dayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06289454469935208604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823777262380847396.post-45793587542704031942013-02-12T00:19:25.498+08:002013-02-12T00:19:25.498+08:00I would probably only recommend it to people who h...I would probably only recommend it to people who have read Chocolat, as I think you gain much from having known the characters previously. Reading Little Men is like meeting my new class. Lots of vibrant interesting characters, all with their own strengths and weaknesses. Loving it! :)

Give Kate Morton a go. Her books generally cover a range of eras, and shift between Australia and Europe and her characters are beautifully portrayed.

Joanne Harris writes about relationships, prejudices and hope. I love seeing the growth in her characters and the bonds that are created between them. Definitely worth a try.
